# Purpose

The purpose of CRC-20 is to define a new token standard, an inscription framework, which allow users to inscribe anything anywhere, starting from Cosmos Hub.

Cosmos Hub has no native support for smart contracts, NFTs or tokens, making it the second best home for inscriptions in all of crypto. (The best one is bitcoin).

COSS is the first CRC-20 token, and the utility token of the whole inscription framework. The Ordinals of Cosmos, and beyond.
